Hippalot Arts Festival for children! ..
Hippalot is children’s very own special festival where you can enjoy and marvel at many different types of art, theatre and drama. Hippalot is an old timer with a fresh attitude – the festival has existed since 1978 and every year since then something new and innovative has happened. The City of Hämeenlinna has decided to profile itself as a cultural city. Many different institutions serve the citizens; the City Theatre, the Art Museum, Arx Arts Centre and Verkatehdas Arts & Congress Centre are just a couple of examples of the rich cultural life of our city.

This richness is best shown in the Hippalot festival during which many different cultural institutions and groups work together in order to provide the very best of children’s culture for the festival guests.The theme of the festival of 2008 is circus. The theme will be explored through drama, workshops, visual art, dance, music, circus and encounters with a host of art forms. International guests for example from and will attend the events.Most of the performances are in Finnish but English-language guests haven’t been forgotten! Circo Aereo: Trippo

The most-performed production of Circo Aereo so far, Trippo transports its audiences from one atmosphere to another. Magic tricks, acrobatics and animal acts without animals, seven suitcases and a small circus arena. The entire world of the performance travels around in an old wooden carriage, with the home of the circus artists and other performers of the troupe inside it. Trippo begins at dawn when the group arrives in a new place and ends at nightfall when it takes to the road again. In Trippo, the home also travels. The home of the performers is where the audience is. 

Duration: approx. 45 minutes. Suitable for audiences over 3 years old. No speech.
